Late Roman Gold and Silver Artefacts Discovered in Carsium
Pursuant to the provisions of Law No. 312/2004 on the Statute of the National Bank of Romania, as of 2 March 2020, the National Bank of Romania will put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, a gold coin dedicated to The History of Gold - Late Roman Gold and Silver Artefacts Discovered in Carsium.
The gold coin has the following characteristics:

Obverse: a gold fibula and a gold ring from the stock of late Roman gold and silver artefacts discovered in Carsium (Hârșova), the inscription “ROMANIA”, in an arc, the face value “10 LEI”, the year of issue “2020” and the coat of arms of Romania.
Reverse: gold jewels from the stock of late Roman gold and silver artefacts discovered in Carsium (Hârșova) and the inscriptions “ISTORIA AURULUI - ORFEVRARIE ROMANA TARZIE” and “CARSIUM” in an arc.
The gold coins, housed in transparent plastic capsules, will be accompanied by leaflets featuring a presentation of the numismatic issue in Romanian, English and French. Each leaflet comes with a certificate of authenticity bearing the signatures of the Governor and the Chief Cashier of the National Bank of Romania.
The mintage for this numismatic issue is1,000 gold coins.
The selling price for the gold coin, including the leaflet, is lei 480.00, VAT excluded.
The gold coins dedicated to The History of Gold - Late Roman Gold and Silver Artefacts Discovered in Carsiumare legal tender on the territory of Romania.
The gold coins will be put into circulation, for numismatic purposes, through the regional branches of the National Bank of Romania in Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Constanța, Craiova, Iaşi and Timişoara. (NBR)
